Summer fling

It was a June-blue sunday, a perfect summer-fling day; a music-filled day with poetry and song and friends and laughter; and our spirits were high and the energy was electrifying and it was summer, and we were starting it with a blast at our first Toukouleur Jazz & Poetry Brunch.

Wish you had been there to celebrate the new season with us, which – unless I’m mistaken-, could be the color of hope!

Poetry by Michele Marcelin with Alix Buyu Ambroise on saxophone and the musicians from the Blues in Red Band:
Lou Rainone on piano, Michael Vitali on drums, Waldo Chavez on bass, Atibon Nazaire on Haitian percussion.
Special guest artists:
We were blessed with vocals by Chude Mondlane from Mozambique and Didi Crevecoeur, who traveled light from Florida with his harmonica.

Before the show: Atibon, Waldo, Michele, Lou, Buyu, and Michael
